Cole's Two Month Doctor Appointment

Cole had his two month appointment today.  He is 13 1/2 pounds (75th percentile) and 24 inches long (95th percentile).  This tells us that he is very tall and only a little chubby. :)  He was in a great mood, loving life, talking to Dr. Mickey painted on the wall, smiling at his Mama...he had no idea what was coming.  Vaccines.  Three of them.  The first one was given orally and, since our kid loves to eat, there was no problem.  A slight pause, maybe, as he pondered what kind of new milk this was, but then he went right back to it.  The medical assistant looked at me and said, "That's the best any baby has ever done in here.  They usually spit it out."  Right.  Not our boy.
But the other two vaccinations?  Those came in shot form.  They were given faster than he could realize what was going on but, once he did, he turned bright red and did the silent cry - mouth open, eyes squeezed shut, nose wrinkled but so upset that no sound comes out.  I laughed because that's what I do when I'm scared and the medical assistant kind of just looked at me and told me I could pick him up.  She didn't know I was two seconds away from pushing her to the floor so I could get to Cole.  The rest of the day has gone pretty much like this: sleep, scream, eat, sleep.  At least he has a cool blue camo band-aid!

Happy Birthday to Aunt Jessica (aka Blondie, Polka Dot, Jessica, Sister)!

We love you very much and hope you have a fabulous day! :)

Welcome!

Welcome!

If you are reading this, we consider you family and/or friends.  We also consider you awesome.

You may have heard that we had a baby.  His name is Cole and, like you, he is awesome.  And we want you to be able to watch him grow up...and also watch us be real, live adults responsible for an actual human child.  It should be fun and we're glad you're here!

Love,
Abe and Amanda
